Taliban Launches 4B Afghanis Power Projects in Northern Afghanistan
DID Press: Authorities under the Taliban announced the launch of three major electricity supply projects in northern Afghanistan, with a total budget of nearly 4 billion afghanis aimed at expanding energy access across underserved regions.

Local officials said the projects have commenced in the provinces of Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, and Faryab, covering multiple districts that have long struggled with limited or unreliable power services. Funding for the initiatives will be provided from the government’s national budget.
According to the announced plan, construction and infrastructure work will continue over the next three years, after which thousands of households are expected to be connected to the national electricity grid, improving living standards and supporting local economic activity.
The projects come amid rising electricity demand in northern provinces, where persistent energy shortages have remained a major constraint on daily life and regional development in recent years.
