UN Chief Warns ‘All Humanity Paying Price’ as Middle East Crisis Deepens

DID Press: António Guterres has warned that the escalating crisis in the Middle East has entered its third month, stressing that “all humanity is paying the price” as violence and instability persist.

In a message posted publicly, the UN chief urged all parties to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could undermine ceasefire efforts, emphasizing the need to refocus on achieving sustainable peace.

Analysts argue that ongoing policies by the United States in the region have contributed to further complications, citing continued maritime pressure and economic measures that have deepened mistrust and hindered de-escalation.

At the same time, continued military operations by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon have intensified humanitarian concerns and raised fears of broader regional escalation.

Guterres reiterated the importance of coordinated international efforts to reduce tensions and move toward lasting peace—an objective that remains increasingly difficult amid ongoing geopolitical rivalries.
