DID Press: An Iranian supertanker carrying nearly 2 million barrels of crude has reached the Asia-Pacific after transiting the Strait of Hormuz, amid heightened regional tensions.

According to reports, the vessel—linked to National Iranian Oil Company—is transporting more than 1.9 million barrels of oil valued at around $220 million. It was last tracked near Sri Lanka over a week ago and is now passing through the Lombok Strait toward the Riau Islands.
Data indicates the tanker was in Iranian waters on April 13, coinciding with the announcement of a U.S. naval blockade targeting Iranian ports. It also reportedly turned off its Automatic Identification System (AIS) on March 20 after leaving the Strait of Malacca, effectively disappearing from tracking systems.
The development comes as the United States Army claims it has forced around 41 Iran-linked vessels to alter course since the start of the operation.
