Afghanistan Launches Committee for Precious, Semi-Precious Stones

DID Press: Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) has announced the official launch of a new committee dedicated to the country’s precious and semi-precious stones sector.

In a statement released on Saturday, the chamber said the committee is expected to play a significant role in supporting the growth of Afghanistan’s jewelry and gemstone industry.

Officials stated that the committee was established to address challenges facing traders, exporters, and processors of precious and semi-precious stones.

According to the ACCI, the newly formed body will work to improve coordination among industry stakeholders, expand markets, boost exports, and strengthen the processing sector for Afghan gemstones.

Afghanistan is considered one of the countries with rich reserves of precious and semi-precious stones, and officials believe the development of this sector could contribute significantly to economic growth and job creation.
