Hundreds of Afghan Migrants Return After Release from Pakistani Prisons
DID Press: Hundreds of Afghan migrants detained in Pakistan over documentation-related issues have returned to Afghanistan after being released from detention facilities and crossing through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.

According to available information, a total of 561 Afghan nationals were released over the past week, with 481 returning via the Torkham crossing and 80 others entering the country through Spin Boldak.
The returnees included both families and single migrants who had been held in Pakistan due to irregular residency status and lack of valid legal documents.
Authorities said the individuals were registered upon arrival and provided with initial assistance before being transferred to their respective home provinces. Some also received basic humanitarian support as part of emergency response measures.
In recent months, Pakistan has intensified arrests and deportations of Afghan migrants, leading to the return of thousands of families under increasingly difficult conditions.
Many returnees report serious challenges, including unemployment, lack of housing, and limited access to basic services after arriving in Afghanistan.
Humanitarian organizations and international agencies have repeatedly warned about the worsening situation facing returning migrants and have called for expanded support for vulnerable families.
