Baghlan Inaugurates New Industrial Park and Launches Rice Processing Plant

DID Press: A newly established industrial park in the Chom Qala area of central Baghlan province has been officially inaugurated by local Taliban authorities, alongside the launch of a $2 million rice processing plant project by a domestic company.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Taliban-appointed governor of Baghlan, Mawlawi Abdullah Mukhtar, along with officials from the local industry and commerce department.

According to local authorities, the new facility is expected to enhance rice processing and packaging capacity in the province, contributing to the development of agro-based industries and improving domestic production value chains.

Officials stated that the project is anticipated to generate hundreds of direct and indirect employment opportunities, supporting local livelihoods and stimulating economic activity in the region.

The provincial governor emphasized that industrial development projects are a key priority for economic growth, and local authorities will continue to support private sector investment in the region.
