Pezeshkian: No Major Decision Is Made Without Leader’s Approval

DID Press: Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that all major national decisions are taken within the framework of the Supreme National Security Council and in coordination with the country’s Supreme Leader.

Pezeshkian said that some interpretations of statements attributed to the late revolutionary leader have been circulated in a way that suggests the Islamic Republic is absolutely opposed to negotiations, adding that such a view does not reflect reality.

He stated that the late leader’s approach was always based on “dignity, wisdom, and national interest,” and that there was never opposition to negotiations conducted from a position of strength and within the framework of national interests.

The president stressed that all strategic and foreign policy decisions are made in accordance with legal mechanisms and with the approval of the Supreme Leader, and that no decision is taken outside this structure.

He also called for national unity and coordination in foreign policy, saying all institutions and political actors must support official decisions to present a unified voice internationally.

Pezeshkian concluded that safeguarding national interests, strengthening the country’s standing, and enhancing Iran’s regional and global position remain the key principles guiding foreign policy decisions.
