Hezbollah Says Israel Suffers Battlefield Losses While Targeting Civilians
DID Press: Hezbollah says it will continue defending Lebanon against Israeli attacks, as fighting along the southern border intensifies.

In a televised speech broadcast by Al Mayadeen, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said the group’s drones are monitoring Israeli forces “everywhere” and claimed Israeli troops are suffering casualties on the battlefield.
He accused Israel of responding by targeting civilians and destroying residential buildings in southern Lebanon.
Qassem also described recent developments as “the beginning of Israel’s decline,” calling on Israel to halt its attacks, withdraw forces from Lebanese territory, and release detainees.
He further urged the Lebanese government to reverse its March decision aimed at restricting Hezbollah, arguing that efforts to disarm the group align with what he called “Israel’s agenda.”
Qassem warned against direct negotiations with Israel and said the Lebanese government should resign if it cannot protect national sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced that one Israeli soldier was killed and another seriously wounded during clashes in southern Lebanon. According to the army, the casualties occurred “during combat operations,” and the injured soldier was evacuated for treatment.
The Israeli military added that total fatalities since the start of the latest escalation have reached 24, including 23 soldiers and one civilian contractor.
Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to remain high along the Lebanon-Israel border.
