DID Press: Israeli military has confirmed the deaths of two of its soldiers during ongoing clashes in southern Lebanon, bringing the total number of military fatalities in the current escalation to 29.

The Israel Defense Forces said a 23-year-old captain died from wounds sustained in combat operations in southern Lebanon, while a 21-year-old sergeant was killed during an operational mission in the same area.
According to Israeli officials, the latest deaths raise the total number of IDF personnel killed since the renewed phase of fighting in Lebanon to 29, along with one civilian contractor reported killed during the campaign.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reported that more than 3,500 people have been killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon.
The escalation reflects continued cross-border hostilities between Israel and militant groups operating in southern Lebanon, amid a widening regional conflict.
