Taliban, IOM Hold Talks on IDPs and Returnees in Afghanistan

DID Press: A technical meeting between Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees under the Taliban administration and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) was held to assess the situation of internally displaced persons and returning migrants, and to strengthen joint cooperation.

According to the ministry, both sides discussed key challenges facing migrants, the delivery of humanitarian assistance, shelter provision, and coordination of joint programs across various provinces of Afghanistan.

IOM representatives reaffirmed their continued support for return, resettlement, and reintegration programs for returnees, emphasizing sustained cooperation with Afghan authorities.

The meeting is part of ongoing field-level coordination between Afghan authorities and international organizations aimed at addressing the needs of displaced populations and returnees across the country.
