Iran’s IRGC Claims Strike on US Air Base in Jordan

DID Press: Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it launched a missile strike against Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, claiming the facility hosts U.S. military aircraft, including F-35, F-15 and F-16 fighter jets.

According to an IRGC statement, the operation involved the launch of 12 ballistic missiles and was carried out in response to what Iran described as recent U.S. military attacks. The group claimed that key military facilities and a number of aircraft at the base were destroyed, though these claims have not been independently verified.

The IRGC described the strike as a direct response to U.S. actions and warned that military operations would continue if what it called hostile activities persist.

The developments came amid heightened regional tensions and reports of increased military alert levels across several countries.

Meanwhile, Kuwait announced a temporary closure of its airspace, citing security concerns and potential risks to civilian aviation. Kuwait’s civil aviation authority said air traffic would resume once the security situation is reassessed by relevant authorities.

In Jordan, the U.S. Embassy in Jordan issued a security alert advising American citizens to seek shelter in secure locations. The embassy said reports indicated the presence of drones or missiles in Jordanian airspace.
