TAPI Gas Pipeline in Herat Reaches 60% Completion, 84 km of Laying Finished
DID Press: Taliban officials in Herat say the TAPI gas pipeline project has reached 60 percent completion in the province, with 84 kilometers of pipeline laid and significant progress made on supporting infrastructure along the route.

Taliban spokesperson for the Herat governor, Mufti Mohammad Yusuf Saeedi, said that 84 kilometers of the pipeline have been installed so far, while 130 kilometers of road have been prepared and another 108 kilometers are ready for use.
He added that construction work is continuing at pace, with relevant authorities working to complete the project as soon as possible, potentially by early next year.
Economic analysts describe the TAPI project as one of the region’s largest energy infrastructure initiatives, saying its completion would bring significant economic benefits to Afghanistan, particularly Herat province.
The TAPI pipeline is a major regional energy corridor stretching 1,814 kilometers from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. The Afghan section covers 816 kilometers and is designed to transport up to 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
