Rocket Strike Kills 4 Civilians in Kurram Checkpoint Clash in Pakistan
DID Press: Dozens of armed militants launched a heavy assault on the strategic Mirbag checkpoint in Pakistan’s central Kurram district, resulting in hours of fighting, destruction of the post, and multiple casualties, including four civilians killed by rocket fire.

Local sources in northwestern Pakistan said the attackers, described by security officials as “local militants,” used heavy weapons in the overnight assault on the Mirbag checkpoint in central Kurram.
The exchange of fire between the attackers and security forces reportedly lasted around two and a half hours. After the fighting ended, the attackers set the checkpoint on fire and looted equipment.
Casualty figures vary, with local officials reporting between three and seven deaths among security personnel and militants.
Medical authorities confirmed that a rocket struck a residential house near the checkpoint, killing four civilians — including three women and a child. More than 35 people were also injured, including police personnel and civilians.
Local mosques in Sadda have issued urgent appeals for blood donations due to the severity of the casualties.
The Mirbag checkpoint lies along a key route connecting Kurram with Orakzai and Khyber districts, and typically hosts more than 20 police personnel. Officials described the scale of the coordinated attack as unprecedented in the area.
