Islamabad Claims Key Diplomatic Role in Iran–US Agreement

DID Press: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the recent agreement between Iran and the United States as a major diplomatic breakthrough, stating that Pakistan’s mediation efforts have strengthened its international standing.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Sharif said Islamabad played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and reducing tensions between the two sides, which he said enhanced Pakistan’s credibility on the global stage.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s active and responsible regional policy has helped position the country as a meaningful contributor to peace and stability efforts in the region.

According to Sharif, Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement in bringing the parties closer received wide international recognition and has contributed to greater respect for Pakistan globally.

The Prime Minister also praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for his role in supporting the diplomatic process, calling the coordination between Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership “decisive” in enabling effective regional engagement.

Sharif reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to peaceful resolution of conflicts and believes that lasting stability can only be achieved through dialogue and constructive diplomatic engagement between states.

He added that Pakistan will continue its efforts to promote peace, reduce regional tensions, and expand cooperation through diplomatic channels in the future.
