Former US Official Calls for Immediate Suspension of US Aid to Israel
DID Press: Joe Kent, a former US counterterrorism official and security figure, has called for the immediate suspension of US assistance to Israel, arguing that Washington must adopt a stricter stance to preserve regional stability and uphold recent peace arrangements.

Kent said the United States should make clear to Israel that it would not provide defensive support if Iran responds to potential Israeli actions in Lebanon. He argued that Israel has not consistently responded to US requests, either verbal or written, and that only concrete measures from Washington could alter its behavior.
He further stated that Israel’s continued reliance on US support while pursuing independent security policies creates a “calculated imbalance,” adding that such a dynamic weakens Washington’s leverage over its ally.
Kent emphasized that US priorities should focus on securing maritime routes and maintaining regional peace, warning that without restricting Israel’s leverage, American diplomatic requests would continue to be ignored.
