Mujahid: TAPI Pipeline Project Making Rapid Progress in Afghanistan

DID Press: Zabihullah Mujahid has announced that construction work on the TAPI gas pipeline project in Afghanistan is advancing at a rapid pace, with significant progress reported on key infrastructure sections.

Mujahid said that around 130 kilometers of the pipeline route has been leveled, while 91 kilometers of pipeline have already been installed.

He added that the total distance from the Turkmenistan border to the Herat Industrial Park is approximately 153 kilometers, along which the pipeline will continue to extend.

The TAPI (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India) pipeline is considered one of the largest regional infrastructure projects involving Afghanistan. It was initially launched under previous governments but saw limited progress due to security challenges and infrastructure constraints.

Officials say renewed momentum on the project could play a significant role in Afghanistan’s energy transit potential and regional economic integration.
