Afghanistan Records Entry and Exit of Over 8,500 Foreign Nationals in 3 Months

DID Press: Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Statistics and Information has reported that a total of 8,560 foreign nationals entered and exited the country during the first three months of 1405 (Solar Hijri calendar), through land border crossings and airports.

According to the data covering the months of Hamal, Sawr, and Jawza, 4,568 foreign citizens—including 191 women—entered Afghanistan, while 3,992 others, including 121 women, left the country.

The report states that 4,503 arrivals were recorded via land crossings and 65 through airports. Among the incoming travelers, 609 visited Afghanistan for tourism purposes, particularly to see historical and archaeological sites, while the rest entered for work-related activities.

The General Directorate of Statistics and Information further noted that the highest number of entries was recorded at the Nimroz border crossing, with 2,718 individuals.

This was followed by 1,462 entries through the Herat border points and airport, 264 through the Aqina crossing in Faryab Province, 62 via the Ishkashim crossing in Badakhshan Province, and the remainder through Hairatan and the Mazar-i-Sharif airport.
