Karzai Urges Pakistan to End ‘Aggressive Policy’ Toward Afghanistan

DID Press: Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned recent Pakistani attacks in eastern Afghanistan, calling on Islamabad to abandon its policy of hostility and instead pursue relations based on mutual respect.

Karzai reacted to the reported strikes in Paktia Province, Paktika Province, and Kunar Province, describing the attacks as inconsistent with principles of good neighborliness and internationally accepted norms.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and stressed that continued reliance on military force cannot resolve disputes between the two countries.

Karzai urged Pakistan to end what he called a “hostile policy” and to avoid contradictory approaches toward extremism, instead prioritizing dialogue and cooperation.

The former president further stated that Pakistan’s interests lie in building relations based on mutual respect, regional cooperation, and good neighborliness with Afghanistan. He warned that continued conflict and destructive policies would not improve regional security but would instead deepen instability and existing crises.
