Russia Calls for Diplomatic Solution to Afghanistan-Pakistan Tensions

DID Press: Russia has called on Afghanistan and Pakistan to halt military confrontations and resolve their disputes through political dialogue and diplomatic channels, expressing concern over the continued escalation of tensions between the two neighboring countries.

According to a statement issued by Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow is concerned about the ongoing armed confrontation between Afghanistan and Pakistan, warning that civilians continue to bear the brunt of the violence.

The ministry also referred to Pakistan’s reported airstrikes on the Afghan provinces of Paktia, Paktika and Kunar on the night of June 29, describing the incident as a “tragic event.”

Citing United Nations figures, the statement said the strikes killed at least 28 people, including children, and injured around 50 others.

Russia urged both Islamabad and Kabul to end military hostilities and pursue political and diplomatic solutions to address their differences, emphasizing the importance of regional stability and civilian protection.
