Afghanistan’s Only Astronaut to Be Buried in Kabul

DID Press: The body of Abdul Ahad Momand, Afghanistan’s first and only astronaut, will be transferred from Munich, Germany, to Kabul on Monday, where funeral prayers and burial ceremonies are scheduled to take place.

According to the announced program, the funeral and burial will be attended by officials of the Taliban-led administration, members of Momand’s family, and a number of citizens in the Afghan capital.

Momand is widely recognized as Afghanistan’s first and only astronaut, earning national and international recognition for his historic contribution to the country’s space legacy.
