DID Press: Russian and Chinese naval forces have carried out live-fire exercises during the maritime phase of the Joint Sea 2026 military drills in the Yellow Sea, including training to counter simulated attacks by unmanned aerial and surface systems.

According to the Russian Pacific Fleet’s press service, naval units from both countries conducted several days of exercises using naval artillery and machine guns to repel simulated attacks involving aerial drones and unmanned surface vessels.
The statement said electronic warfare systems were also deployed to disrupt large-scale simulated attacks as part of the exercise.
The joint drills further included coordinated naval maneuvers, anti-submarine warfare operations, engagements against mock enemy surface vessels, and search-and-rescue missions, aimed at enhancing operational coordination and interoperability between the two navies.
