Former Karzai Aide Accuses Lindsey Graham of Backing War Policies in Afghanistan
DID Press: Abdul Karim Khorram, former chief of staff to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, has criticized the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, describing him as a supporter of military-focused policies during the American intervention in Afghanistan.

In a statement responding to Graham’s death, Khorram claimed that relations between Karzai and the Republican senator were often tense due to disagreements over Washington’s military approach in Afghanistan.
Khorram alleged that during visits to Kabul, Graham frequently appeared in military attire during official meetings and advocated for expanding security and military operations.
He further claimed that discussions between Graham and Karzai were often marked by disputes, including an alleged meeting in which the U.S. senator proposed building more prisons in Afghanistan, a suggestion that was reportedly rejected by Karzai and led to a heated exchange.
Khorram described Graham as a figure associated with a hardline U.S. approach toward Afghanistan, while emphasizing that his remarks represented his personal account of interactions with the American senator.
