Afghanistan Envoy to UN Warns Lack of Justice Threatens Civilian Security
DID Press: Nasir Ahmad Faiq has warned that the collapse of justice and accountability mechanisms in Afghanistan has fueled violence and placed civilians at greater risk.

Writing on X on Monday, Faiq said that following the Taliban’s takeover, the erosion of judicial and accountability institutions had contributed to an increase in cases of killings, rape, kidnappings, and forced marriages across the country.
He stressed that genuine security can only be achieved through the rule of law and equal access to justice, adding that these conditions are currently absent in Afghanistan.
Faiq said women, children, and other vulnerable groups have borne the brunt of the deteriorating situation.
He also noted that despite reports of killings involving former military personnel and government officials, the Taliban authorities have not released details of any transparent investigations into those cases.
Faiq called for an end to the culture of impunity and urged stronger efforts to promote justice and accountability in Afghanistan.
