Yemen Warns Airlines Against Using Saudi Airspace Amid Escalation

DID Press: Yemen’s armed forces have warned international airlines against flying through Saudi airspace until the reopening of Sana’a International Airport, as tensions continue to rise between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

The warning was issued after Yemen referred to the implementation of a “airport-for-airport” equation, cautioning airlines that crossing Saudi airspace under the current circumstances could pose security risks.

The statement followed an attack on Sana’a International Airport and a reported retaliatory strike targeting Abha Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Yemen said the warning would remain in effect until restrictions on Sana’a International Airport are lifted and normal aviation operations are restored.
