Iran Claims Widespread Strikes on US Bases Across Middle East

DID Press: Iranian state-linked media and regional news outlets reported that Iran launched a series of missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military facilities across the Middle East, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington. The reported strikes could not be independently verified.

According to the reports, military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq’s Kurdistan region, and southeastern Syria were targeted in what Iranian authorities described as retaliation for U.S. attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure.

Iranian military statements said the operations, referred to as the “Army’s Thunder Operation” and the “11th Wave of the IRGC’s Nasr 2 Operation,” targeted multiple U.S. facilities across the region.

In Kuwait, local reports said explosions were heard near U.S. military sites, with Iranian officials claiming to have struck missile launch platforms, radar systems and logistical facilities using Arash attack drones.

In Bahrain, warning sirens reportedly sounded as missiles were said to have targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet, Al-Hadd base, Al-Dhala camp and Sheikh Isa Air Base. Media reports also claimed that flights were suspended in Bahrain and Qatar following the attacks.

In Qatar, reports said Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the region, was targeted by ballistic missiles, while operations at Doha’s airport were reportedly disrupted.

Regional media also reported that Iranian missiles targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, while explosions were reported near U.S. military facilities in Erbil, Iraq, where air defense systems were activated in response to incoming projectiles.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed to have targeted the U.S. special operations command center at Al-Tanf in southeastern Syria, alleging damage to military equipment and personnel. Those claims have not been independently verified.

Separately, Iran’s mission to the United Nations said in a letter to the U.N. Security Council that recent U.S. attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure constituted a serious violation of international humanitarian law and amounted to war crimes.

The reported attacks and counterclaims mark a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, raising concerns over regional security and the potential for a broader conflict.
