DID Press: Senior US officials have reportedly expressed concern over the potential escalation of the conflict with Iran, with military leaders warning about dwindling ammunition stockpiles and the risks of a prolonged confrontation.
According to CNN, citing informed sources, Vice President J.D. Vance and Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, raised concerns during a White House meeting on Friday about the possibility of the conflict expanding.
The sources said Gen. Caine warned that U.S. ammunition reserves had been significantly reduced and cautioned about the potential consequences of further military escalation.
Meanwhile, a U.S. Defense Department source said the overnight bombing campaign against Iran has been temporarily suspended after nearly two weeks of continuous strikes.
President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran are continuing but stressed that the United States remains prepared to resume military operations or “intensify” its strikes if deemed necessary.
