Former Afghan Lawmaker Condemns Imposing War on Afghanistan

DID Press: Former Afghan parliamentarian Kamal Naser Osuli has condemned the continuation of armed conflict in Afghanistan, describing the imposition of war on the country as a crime and warning that prolonged violence continues to undermine the nation’s future.

In a statement posted on X, Osuli said that continued fighting—regardless of which side is responsible—serves no national interest and comes at the expense of the Afghan people.

He argued that nearly five decades of conflict have deprived Afghanistan of stability and development, adding that insecurity and violence have been the principal drivers of the country’s long-term political and economic setbacks.

Osuli stressed that Afghanistan now needs peace more than ever, saying an end to the conflict is essential for achieving lasting stability, reconstruction, and sustainable development.
