Taliban Says Foreign Tourist Arrivals to Afghanistan Rose 80%
DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture says foreign tourist arrivals to Afghanistan have increased by 80%, attributing the rise to what it describes as improved security across the country.

In a statement released on Monday, the ministry said the number of visitors traveling to Afghanistan has continued to grow in recent years.
According to figures published by the ministry, the annual number of foreign tourists has increased from around 700 before the Taliban’s return to power to approximately 10,000 last year.
The Taliban also said that 8 million domestic tourists and 10,000 foreign visitors visited Afghanistan’s natural, historical, and cultural attractions over the past year.
The figures were released by the Taliban authorities and have not been independently verified.
