Taliban, Uzbek Firm Sign Metals Exploration Agreement

DID Press: Taliban Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Uzbekistan’s Temur Sena company to conduct field studies and explore the country’s metallic mineral resources.

The agreement was signed in the presence of officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and representatives of Temur Sena. The MoU consists of nine articles outlining the framework for cooperation.

Under the agreement, the Uzbek company will carry out one year of field surveys and mineral exploration in accordance with an approved work plan.

The Taliban ministry described the agreement as an important step toward expanding mineral exploration activities and improving the development and utilization of Afghanistan’s mineral resources.

Officials also stressed the importance of close coordination and cooperation between the two sides to ensure the successful implementation of the agreement.
