Taliban Envoy, Pakistani Islamist Leader Stress Regional Stability

DID Press: Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, the Taliban’s ambassador to Pakistan, met with Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami, in Islamabad to discuss bilateral relations, expanding trade cooperation, and regional peace and security.

According to reports, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman emphasized that peace and stability in Afghanistan are in the interests of not only Afghanistan and Pakistan but the wider region. He said stronger ties between the two neighboring countries are essential for promoting regional security and long-term stability.

For his part, Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb underscored the importance of strengthening what he described as the brotherly relationship between Afghanistan and Pakistan and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

During the meeting, the Taliban envoy also conveyed condolences to the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan over the death of the party’s Secretary-General, Ameer-ul-Azeem.
