DID Press: A Lebanese Hezbollah lawmaker said US President Donald Trump’s remarks about cancelling a planned attack on Iran amounted to an acknowledgment of Tehran’s significant role in international affairs and the potential global consequences of military confrontation.
Ehab Hamadeh, a member of the Lebanese parliament’s Resistance bloc, said Trump’s comments regarding the risks of attacking Iran demonstrated that any military action against Tehran would not remain a limited conflict but could have wider implications for regional and global security.
Hamadeh argued that Trump’s statement that a war with Iran could endanger the future of the world showed the scale of Iran’s influence in international calculations. He claimed that repeated reversals of US threats against Tehran reflected Washington’s recognition of Iran’s deterrence capabilities and its ability to affect strategic balances in the region.
The remarks come after Trump reportedly discussed abandoning plans for military action against Iran, a move that has triggered debate over Washington’s approach toward Tehran and the broader security situation in the Middle East.
