EU Allocates €11M to Strengthen Afghanistan’s Veterinary Sector

DID Press: European Union has announced an €11 million funding package to strengthen Afghanistan’s veterinary services, improve animal health, enhance food security and support climate-resilient livelihoods.

The EU Delegation to Afghanistan announced the funding during the Afghanistan Veterinary Workforce Development Conference, saying the initiative aims to reinforce veterinary services while improving livestock health and rural resilience.

According to the EU, the programme will be implemented across 17 provinces and is expected to benefit approximately 300,000 families through improved livestock production and veterinary care.

The initiative is intended to enhance access to animal health services, strengthen food security and help rural communities adapt to the impacts of climate change.
