Israel’s Finance Ministry has warned that a further increase in military spending could have significant economic consequences, including higher taxes and cuts to funding for public services.
Economic reports indicate that Israel’s military expenditures have surged since the outbreak of war in 2023, taking up an increasingly larger share of the government’s overall budget.
The Bank of Israel has also warned of rising war-related costs, saying that financing the additional expenditures would require a combination of higher taxes, spending cuts and increased government borrowing.
