Afghanistan, Iran Agree to Expand Agricultural Cooperation

DID Press: The agriculture ministers of the Taliban and Iran held talks in Kabul on expanding bilateral cooperation in agriculture, livestock and irrigation. The meeting focused on cooperation in agricultural machinery, improved seeds, plant and animal health, irrigation and technology transfer.

The two sides also discussed the export of fresh goat and sheep meat from Afghanistan to Iran, as well as the export of meat, eggs and poultry chicks from Iran to Afghanistan.

The agriculture ministries of the two countries agreed to follow up on 16 commitments from previous meetings and take practical steps to expand agricultural cooperation.
