DID Press: Afghan national taekwondo athlete Azir Rashid suffered a narrow defeat in his opening Kyorugi bout at the eighth edition of the World Taekwondo Federation President’s Cup in Lahore, Pakistan.

Rashid faced an experienced member of Kazakhstan’s senior national team in his first match of the tournament.
The young Afghan athlete put up a close and competitive fight but lost by a slim margin, ending his run in the competition.
The eighth edition of the World Taekwondo Federation President’s Cup is being held in Lahore with athletes from more than 40 countries taking part.
Afghanistan is represented by a number of athletes competing in both Kyorugi and Poomsae events.
