DID Press: The USS Abraham Lincoln has begun its journey back to San Diego after a nine-month deployment, much of which was spent supporting U.S. military operations against Iran.

The aircraft carrier, which has about 5,000 sailors aboard, spent almost the entire 272-day deployment at sea.
The mission was accompanied by reports of shortages of food and supplies, problems with plumbing and drinking-water systems, and deteriorating living and sanitary conditions aboard the vessel.
The carrier is expected to take between four and five weeks to reach its destination.
