Taliban Disaster Chief Calls for Humanitarian Aid to Be Kept Free of Politics
DID Press: Nooruddin Turabi, head of the Taliban’s Disaster Management Authority, has urged international aid organizations to reduce administrative costs so that a larger share of humanitarian assistance reaches people in need across Afghanistan.

Turabi said humanitarian needs, particularly in remote areas, have increased sharply due to the effects of climate change and called on donor countries and aid organizations to separate humanitarian operations from political considerations.
He said international organizations should focus on delivering assistance more effectively to vulnerable communities rather than allowing political issues to affect humanitarian programs.
Turabi also described the authority under his leadership as a non-political institution and emphasized that its primary objective is to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
His remarks come as Afghanistan continues to face significant humanitarian and economic challenges, with remote and vulnerable communities particularly exposed to the effects of climate-related disasters.
