40th International Islamic Unity Conference Opens in Tehran

DID Press: The 40th International Islamic Unity Conference opened in Tehran on Thursday with the participation of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. This year’s conference is being held at the Islamic Summit Conference Hall under the theme “Islamic Unity in the Thought of the Martyred Imam.”

Organizers said around 600 Iranian and foreign guests from 40 countries are attending the event, including representatives from Iraq, Pakistan, Türkiye, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Gulf countries.

The main objective of the conference is to explore ways to strengthen unity among Muslims and examine the ideas of the “Martyred Imam” on Muslim solidarity and convergence.

The International Islamic Unity Conference has in recent years become one of the major intellectual and political gatherings in the Muslim world. This year’s event, attended by religious, academic and political figures, seeks to highlight messages of Islamic solidarity and resistance in addressing contemporary challenges.
