DID Press: Two people were killed and a suspected gunman was found dead after a shooting inside a high-rise apartment building in downtown Minneapolis, U.S. authorities said. Three Minneapolis police officers were also injured in the incident.
Police Sgt. Garrett Parten said the shooting occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Two of the officers were wounded by gunfire, while a third sustained another injury. All three were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities received an emergency call reporting gunfire shortly after 4:30 p.m. Police officers entered the building within minutes and discovered victims inside, according to officials.
Hennepin Healthcare said several patients were taken to the medical center following the incident. Authorities had not immediately confirmed how the suspected shooter died, and the investigation remained ongoing.
