Taliban Official: Afghanistan Does Not Seek War With Any Neighbor

DID Press: Hayatullah Muhajir Farahi, deputy minister for publications affairs at the Taliban-controlled Ministry of Information and Culture, said Afghanistan does not seek war or tensions with any of its neighbors and does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

Farahi said in a post on X that Kabul expects other countries to likewise refrain from interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and to resolve their own problems within their borders.

He also said the Taliban administration is more prepared than before to defend Afghanistan and would give a “decisive response” to any aggression against the country.

The remarks come amid continuing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Farahi previously said Kabul would respond at an appropriate time to Pakistani attacks on Afghan territory, while emphasizing that Afghanistan sought relations with neighboring countries based on mutual respect.

Farahi’s latest comments also come as regional efforts continue to address tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
