UNCTAD: Gaza Unemployment Rate Reaches Nearly 90%

DID Press: UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) says the Gaza Strip is facing an unprecedented economic crisis, with unemployment reaching nearly 90% of the labor force.

According to UNCTAD’s latest report, around 90% of Gaza’s workforce is currently unemployed, reflecting the extensive damage to economic activity and livelihoods across the territory.

UNCTAD said the economic consequences of the Gaza crisis will extend beyond the current period, warning that rebuilding the territory’s economy and infrastructure will require substantial resources and considerable time.
