Taliban Leader Urges Members to Put Personal Interests Below the Group’s System
DID Press: Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada has called on members of the group to maintain internal unity, avoid ethnic divisions and personal favoritism, and protect government resources.

According to Hamdullah Fitrat, the Taliban’s deputy spokesperson, Akhundzada delivered the remarks at a meeting with Taliban members at the 205th Al-Badr Army Corps at noon on 21 October.
In a post on X, Fitrat said Akhundzada had urged Taliban members to put their personal interests aside for the sake of the Taliban system and refrain from ethnic disputes and prioritizing personal relationships.
The Taliban leader also stressed the responsible use of public resources, calling on the group’s forces to handle public funds, vehicles and weapons carefully and avoid unnecessary spending or use.
Akhundzada’s renewed emphasis on internal unity and preventing the misuse of public resources comes amid reports of internal divisions within the Taliban and allegations that some of the group’s officials have misused government resources.
