Former Afghan Official Accuses Pakistan of Producing Terrorism and Drugs
DID Press: Abdul Karim Khurram, chief of staff to former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, has rejected remarks by Pakistan’s military spokesperson about Afghanistan, describing the country as a nation shaped by its history and arguing that terrorism and narcotics are products of Pakistan, contrary to claims by Pakistani officials.

Khurram responded to recent comments by Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistani military, in a post on the social media platform X, defending Afghanistan and rejecting the allegations made against the country.
According to media reports, Chaudhry said in an interview that Afghanistan was “not a state” and currently produced only two things: terrorism and drugs.
In response, Khurram said Pakistan’s rulers wanted Afghanistan to remain without an effective state so they could occupy it as though it were an ownerless territory, depriving the country of a meaningful presence and voice in the international community.
He added that Pakistani officials expected Afghanistan to gradually collapse, leaving its people in poverty, deprivation and illiteracy.
Khurram stressed that Afghanistan was a country shaped by its own history and had not been created in the offices of the British Foreign Office.
Addressing the issues of terrorism and narcotics, he further argued that these phenomena were fundamentally products of Pakistan, which, he said, had at least 50 years of experience in this field.
