Trump: Republicans Have Called for War Secretary Hegseth’s Removal After Election Defeat

DID Press: US President Donald Trump has confirmed receiving multiple phone calls about the performance of Pete Hegseth, the US War Secretary, following unfavourable midterm election results, with some callers urging his removal from office.

According to the New York Post, Trump said several callers had criticised Hegseth’s performance. Meanwhile, a number of Republican Party members also believe the War Secretary should be removed from his position.

The report said some Republicans view Hegseth as a potential scapegoat for the party’s election defeat.

Experts believe voter opposition to the US war against Iran also played a role in the election results and the Republicans’ defeat.
