‘Electoral Monitoring Room’ should be Created: Political Parties

Representatives of political parties on Sunday asked the government to create a ‘monitoring room for political parties within the structure of central and provincial election commissions’ in order to oversee the work of election commission.



Representatives of political parties on Sunday asked the government to create a ‘monitoring room for political parties within the structure of central and provincial election commissions’ in order to oversee the work of election commission.
The representatives of the parties say the government should provide the ground for political parties to monitor all electoral processes. According to them, every decision and action of election commission should be carried out with the oversight of the political parties.
About 30 parties are emphasizing on the issue to be implemented. Jamiat, Junbish-e Milli, Hezb-e Islami, Wahdat-e Islami, and Wahdat-e Islami Mardom Afghanistan are the key parties who attended the press conference.

Meanwhile, the representatives of political parties ask the Independent election commission to pave the way for all citizens to participate in the election.
The political parties also emphasized the centers that were removed in different provinces for security reasons should be re-examined and reported to the parties.

According to them, 62 percent of the people’s votes were lost in the previous parliamentary elections due to poor monitoring and the parliament formed based on the 38 percent of the votes.
