Some MPs Took Hostage People’s Tazkiras: Senators

Senators are worried over the participation of Mafia groups in the upcoming parliamentary and districts elections.

Senators are worried over the participation of Mafia groups in the upcoming parliamentary and districts elections.
The mafia groups – most of them are current members of the House of Representatives – have already begun to buy and sell national identity cards (tazkira) as well as fabricating and bullying, said the senators during the parliament’s Sunday session on 27 May.

“A number of MPs who are also nominated in the next election, have taken hostage the people’s tazkiras while the cards are also being sold and distributed at the house of some senators,” said Gulalai Akbari at the session. “These MPs have questioned the transparency of the election and their actions are dangerous in the upcoming election.”

“The government and the election commission should prevent these illegal activities of the MPs,” she accentuated.

The first deputy to the Senate M. Alam Izadyar said the Senate’s administrative board ask for a serious explanation from the Independent Election Commission.

Mr. Izadyar underlined that the IEC should pay attention to this issue; because the result of fabrication in the elections is dangerous for the country’s future.
