The ballot papers should not be printed until the demands of political parties become clear, Afghan political parties called on the IEC by issuing a statement on Tuesday.
“If the Independent Election Commission (IEC) prints the ballot papers regardless of the will of the political parties, it will be responsible for the wasting of millions of dollars from the assets of the people,” the statement said.

On Monday, the IEC announced the final list of 33 provincial parliamentary candidates, and said the ballot papers will soon be published according to the list.
IEC officials said the ballot papers will be printed in one of the countries.
The political parties in the new statement addressed to UNAMA and the IEC, saying “it was serious about their will to change the electoral system, the implementation of a biometric plan, and the parties and civil society’s rights to monitor the electoral process.”

It should be noted that some political parties and prominent coalitions in the country want to change the electoral system, but the government has not clearly responded to their demands so far.
