Hamdullah Muhib Succeeds Atmar

Afghanistan Presidential Palace confirmed that president Ghani accepted M. Hanif Atmar’s resignation and appointed Hamdullah Muhib as the new country’s national security council adviser.


Afghanistan Presidential Palace confirmed that president Ghani accepted M. Hanif Atmar’s resignation and appointed Hamdullah Muhib as the new country’s national security council adviser.
“national security adviser M. Hanif Atmar offered his resignation to president M. Ashraf Ghani, president Ghani accepted his resignation and appointed the Afghan ambassador to the United States Hamdullah Muhib as the new adviser to Afghanistan’s national security council,” Shah Hussain Mortazavi, the deputy spokesman to the presidential palace wrote on his official Facebook page.

Hamdullah Muhib has previously served as Ambassador to the United States and is a close associate of president Ghani.
Mr Muheb has already worked as the supervisor of the press office, the diplomatic correspondence and communications office, the contracting office, the litigation office and as the supervisor of the Presidential Secretariat. Mr. Muhib has played as a communicating role with government counterparts and providing bilateral and multilateral drafts of the agreements.

Muhab has a Ph.D. degree from Brunel University in the UK and is fluent in Persian, Pashto, English, Urdu and Hindi languages.
