Afghanistan’s Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) warned the candidates not to disturb the people and the public order with advertising convoys during election campaigns.
The commission has described harassment of the people as an electoral violation.
“disturbing the public order through the election campaign, for example: launching a large advertising convoy to terrorize the people is prohibited in the election and are counted as electoral abuses,” said Alireza Rouhani, a spokesman for the ECC.
Mr Rouhani also called on the candidates not to distort the city by installing posters on public walls and public places. Otherwise, candidates will be tried according to the electoral law.

According to the ECC, the participation of armed forces members in the electoral campaign, as well as their participation in the electoral campaign, is a violation of the election, calling on the security forces not to participate in the electoral campaign.
“the use of electoral commissions’ symbols, as well as the government facilities by candidates during their electoral campaign, is against the law,” the ECC spokesman added. “the candidates that commit violations during election campaigns will be fined from 5,000 to 50,000 Afghanis,” he stressed.

The ECC has already registered 133 complaints about pre-election campaigns, of these, 89 cases have been addressed, 12 are under investigation and 12 are referred to the election commission’s media committee.
