Alice Wells Discuss Afghan Peace with Pakistani Authorities

US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Ambassador Alice Wells arrived Tuesday for another round of talks with senior Pakistani officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Ambassador Alice Wells arrived Tuesday for another round of talks with senior Pakistani officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal on Twitter, Ambassador Wells will meet with Qureshi and other dignitaries to discuss Pak-US ties, Afghan peace among other issues. Daily Times reported.
She is visiting Pakistan days after her visit to Kabul where she met President Ashraf Ghani and other officials.

During the meeting, President Ghani demanded that the US sanctions must not hit the Iranian Chahbahar port, which Afghanistan is now using for import of Indian goods, according to the presidential palace.
Alice Well’s visit comes on the eve of a meeting in expected to be held in Moscow on 9 Nov. 2018.
